Tindiga Tented lodge is a beautiful lodge overlooking the plains
of Lake Eysai and in the far the Ngorongoro Highland. The lodge
blends in beautifully with the natural environment and we try our
best to run the camp with an eco-friendly approach; protecting and
preserving the natural resources.
The lodge has only 10 rooms, giving it an intimate
atmosphere, with tentative and personalised service. The spacious
rooms all have ensuite bathrooms with showers and toilets.
Lake Eyasi is just 1,5 kilometer from the
lodge. It is a seasonal salt water lake that almost completely dries
up in the dry season. It is the home
of the Hadzabe tribe, that are comprised of a few hundred people
only. They live a nomadic hunting and gathering life. It
is no longer possible for the Hadza to live entirely from hunting.
Formerly the Eyasi and neighboring Yaida Valley areas supported
large populations of both residential and migratory animals, but
now the pickings are slim - some small antelope, wild pigs, hyenas,
baboons and monkeys are all that remain.
The lodge offers hunting with the bush men,
visits of the Datoga tribe (a nomadic tribe in this area), bird
watching tours, walking Safaris and other cultural tours.
