Mwagusi is an exclusive and highly regarded luxury tented camp in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania. Situated on the banks of the Mwagusi Sand River this is one of the most scenically beautiful areas of the park and has some of the greatest wildlife concentrations and diversity. This lodge was set up by a naturalist who loved being in the bush and spent his childhood holidays on camping trips in the area before the park was created. Over the last 16 years with his teaching the guiding at the lodge has become some of the best in East Africa. Safari options include either driving in open-sided 4x4s or the camps speciality- walking safaris often including interactions with an elephant that has come to know and respect the staff. Mwagusi is an intimate lodge with only 8 tented rooms each with a superb view over the sand river, this sand river never fully dries up ensuring a large variety of game visiting year round. The rooms are made from local, natural materials and furnishings and decorations enhance the feeling of real safari style. Mwagusi offers all guests a high quality safari experience, without the luxuries of some lodges. We highly recommend visiting Mwagusi if visiting Ruaha as a perfect comnination of bush experience and luxury.
