The scenic southern highlands of Tanzania, and especially the towns of Mufinindi and Mainga are famous for tea estates and it is amongst these you find this cosy fishing lodge, vaguely reminiscent of a transplanted Scottish country estate. The lodge is set on the Rift Valley escarpment and all 9 well appointed log cabins have view across the valley over the fishing lake and golf course. The cabins have bathrooms and private verandas. The main house has a TV room with pool table and a large lounge with log fire which most guest end up clustered around after the wonderful evening meals prepared with fresh produce from the farm. The lodge offers a variety of activities including mountain biking, horse riding, birdwatching, hiking, and canoeing. All these are included in the full-board rate. A highly rated activity at this lodge is the Trout Fishing, which is thought to be the only place where naturally bred Rainbow Trout are found in Tanzania. We recommend this special place to many of our clients especially if your idea of relaxation is walking and fishing in the cool mountain air, spending the evening in front of a crackling fire and falling asleep at night in a cosy cabin.
