Selous Game Reserve - Special Offer

Selous is the largest wildlife reserve of its kind in the world, stretching over an area of 50,000 kilometres square. A few exhilarating days spent here is a great way to experience an authentic African safari in a truly remote and rugged wilderness.
Wildlife inhabits this reserve in abundance, meaning that despite the sheer size of Selous, you can still expect to see some amazing animals in their natural habitats – lions, elephant, sable antelope can all be found here, and if you are extremely lucky, you may even see the African wild dog.
Another fantastic aspect of Selous is that you can participate in walking and boating safaris – both of which allow you to experience and get close to nature in a completely different way. Imagine walking through the tall grasses as zebra pass you by, or navigating the waters of the Rufiji River, passing crocs and hippos along the way!
During June and July 2011 we have a special itinerary '5 days Selous Explorer' which offers highly discounted rates, and includes walking and boating safaris
Hike up Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's largest mountain, standing at nearly 6,000 metres tall. Each year thousands of thrill-seekers seeking a unique and rewarding challenge set out to summit this majestic mountain.
There are several routes to climb Kilimanjaro, and each one has its own unique advantages:
The Marangu route is the most popular, and features hut accommodation, offering a little more comfort than other routes which require mountainside camping.
The Machame route is the most scenic, and you can expect to see all kinds of beautiful Mountain flora whilst on this trek.
The Rongai route is the much preferred route to take during the rainy season, and is a route which you can most likely expect to see some wildlife on during the first few days hike.
If you think climbing Mount Kilimanjaro may be something you'd like to do, then get in touch with us, and we can work together to choose the best route suited to you.
Donkey trekking in the Ngorongoro Highlands

For those wanting to combine an 'off the beaten track' adventure with their Northern Tanzania safari, we are now offering Ngorongoro Highland donkey trekking expeditions.
The trek takes 5 days to complete, taking in the fantastic flora, fauna and scenery of wide open plains dotted with wildebeest and zebra, shallow grassy craters, pools and waterfalls, forested slopes and stunning Rift Valley vantage points. The starting point of the hike is the wondrous Ngorongoro Crater, the finishing point the beautiful and little-visited Lake Natron - a salt lake favoured by large populations of flamingo.
You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, an armed ranger, and of course the donkeys which will be carrying your luggage and camping equipment.
At the end of each day, you will retire to a designated campsite and enjoy food which has been prepared by a camp cook or local Masai.
This excursion is something special, for those seeking a unique and authentic African experience. More info about hiking in the Highlands...

Feedback from Our Guests

" We had a fabulous time and managed to see everything we wanted to, with close encounters with a leopard, a cheetah with her cubs and lions. "
" Our guide was tireless in trying to find us the animals we really wanted to see and his knowledge was amazing. I'm sure the qualities of the guide can make or break a safari and he certainly made ours. "
" All the people we met were very friendly, welcoming and hospitable, some of the best service we've experienced anywhere in the world. It's sad that we have to leave Tanzania but at least we have the memories of a trip of a lifetime to look back on. "
Thanks to Simon and Bridget for travelling with us and providing feedback!
