The Mnarani Beach Cottages are located at Zanzibars northern tip, at Nungwi village. It is a 1 hrs drive on a good tarmac road from Zanzibar town or the airport up to here. The hotel is a comparable 3 star hotel, on of its best at Nungwi!

Mnarani Beach Cottages has a total of 27 rooms, all with veranda, en suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, mosquito nets, and furnished in local Zanzibarian style:

• Standard rooms (quite small, but most of them with seaview, frontrow, some with A/C)
• Deluxe rooms, comfortable furnished, balcony with seaview, A/C
• Honeymoon suites (A/C, kitchenette, great seaview, being on the first floor!)
• Family Cottages (very spacious, for 4 people, interleading doors, sitting area, a kitchenette with a sink and fridgecoffee/tea making facilities. There is a first floor mezzanine double bedroom and space for extra beds on the ground floor)
• Mahaba Honeymoon Suite, a double storey sea view bungalow direct on the beach! (Decorated in the local Zanzibarian style with wooden floors and walls lined with traditional woven palm fronds. It is self-contained, with kitchen area (inc. fridge) and bathroom, with an open-plan design on the ground floor for sitting and relaxing, and an airy sleeping area upstairs for two people. There is a spacious balcony, which overlooks the ocean and where sunrise can be viewed. There is also a CD player, hammock, and Arabic cushions for relaxing)

At Nungwi there is a wide choice of watersport facilties like scuba diving, snorkeling at Mnemba Island, deep sea fishing, kayaking, all kind of boat trips, surfing, canoeing and even kiting. You can visit the nearby natural aquarium, with sea turtles swimming in the lagoon! Nungwi is also famous for its boat builders, which still using techniques of centuries ago, for handcrafted boats.
