Kambi Ya Tembo Luxury Tented Camp
is located at Sinya, a private concession of more
than 75.000 acres, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park. This
'off the beaten track' camp is still a special tip,
being the only permanent camp in this area! It offers spectacular
landscapes, excellent game viewing and close
interaction with the local Maasai.
Kambi ya Tembo, which faces the snow-capped
peak of the Kilimanjaro consists of luxury tented
accommodation in 10 tents with en suite facilities, each
one under the shade of an old massive Acacia Tortilis tree.
The Maasai in Sinya still live
in the traditional way and follow all the traditional ceremonies.
They are very friendly and unexposed to the commercial relationship
with tourists that is common in other more visited areas. The land
is leased from several local tribes and so your stay here helps
preserve the area for the wildlife and generates funds
for schools and other needs.
Activities include game
drives in open vehicles; night game drives to see the nocturnal
animals and walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors.
Cultural interaction with the local Maasai, visiting
bomas, the market, the village school or when available, the participation
in traditional ceremonies that will make a visit to Sinya the most
unforgettable experience of a lifetime.
